Two weeks have passed, the 115 Miss World candidates have visited China’s most amazing places, and before the fast-track events begin, we bring you what 5 Miss World experts think of each delegate’s chance in the pageant.The judges:Donald West of Canada, perhaps the #1 Miss World expert and owner of the great Pageantopolis website, represents the Americas; Joseph Vitug of the Philippines, whose detailed and entertaining pageant reviews are appreciated all over the pageant world, represents Asia; John C. of Australia, who’s been following Miss World closely since 1972, when Australia won it for the 2nd time, represents Oceania; Martina Aubrechtová of the Czech Republic, whose passion for pageants was born when she watched Miss Greece being crowned Miss World 1996, represents Europe; and Andre Sleigh of South Africa, another Miss World follower with a great eye for beauty, represents Africa.They have scored the 115 Miss World 2010 candidates by giving…5 stars to the ones they believe have potential to win the title;
4 stars to the ones they believe have potential to be at most finalists;
3 stars to the ones they believe have potential to be at most semi-finalists;
2 starts to the ones they believe will not place, but yet, have potential to pull a surprise and advance to the semi-finals;
1 star to the ones they believe could be saved by a fast-track event victory, or, a major upset.Let’s see what they currently think…
It’s interesting to note that only 3 candidates are “unanimity” among our experts: St. Lucia, Botswana and Russia. They all believe they have potential to take it all on October 30. Three of them believe India could be the next Miss World.
Although all 5 experts believe Miss Brazil has what it takes to be a top 7 finalist, none of them see the South American beauty walking away with the Miss World crown. Same with Venezuela, but 4/5 see her as a possible finalist. Miss South Africa has the majority (3) believing in a top 7 placement, and two believe she could win the title. Miss Netherlands definetely divide opinions: two experts see her as a possible finalist, while other 2 think only a miracle or a fast-track victory could make her advance to the semi-finals!
In such a competitive group, about 30 are rated by our Miss World experts as possible semi-finalists. They all believe Gudeloupe and Moldova could be one of them, for example. The judges will certainly have a difficult mission this year!
Don’t be surprised if at least one or two beauties from this group advance in the competition. They could all pull a surprise, our experts believe…
The fast-track competitions are about to begin, and the women in this last list all have a chance to succeed in one of them, especially Talent, Sports or Beauty With a Purpose. Japan and India, never favorites, did it last year.Let’s see if the same judges change their minds in the next two weeks.
